What Do You Want for Mother’s Day?
I’m always amazed by the money put into Mother’s Day gifts. Oh moms are important and deserve every penny spent on them… but what I want doesn’t cost much. Sure, I would enjoy a nice bauble or two, but what I really want is a fun day with my family. Hubby works Monday through Friday, I work Thursday through Saturday. That leaves us just one day together and often times it’s spent doing chores. I know Hubby will let me sleep in, which is one of the best gifts ever. One day a week to sleep past 6am or 7am gives me the energy I need to get through the week. Every Sunday Hubby makes pancakes for our daughters, so I’ve requested strawberry pancakes for Mother’s Day. Other than that I just want to have fun, which likely means sidewalk chalk and tricycles, followed by a bubble bath (for our daughters, not me). Would a diamond bracelet be nice? Oh yeah… but I’m content hanging with my family instead. So all you moms: what do you want most for Mother’s Day?

That’s funny, LauraC, no poop. That has been the one thing that I don’t have to do on Mother’s Day and the one thing my husband does not have to do on Father’s Day. It’s small and silly, but it’s nice to not have to deal with that yuck for at least one day a year!
me and my son use to cook a dinner for mom sometime a cookout just depended on the weather. she like that she also loved flowers she use to tell us give them to me know so i can enjoy them not when im dead cause i cant then. sounds like your husband and girls will treat you good on mothers day.
happy mothers day too you!
No poop! Why didn’t I think of that! (Guess it’s not too late). I’ve requested Special Waffles in bed (which I make every weekend. It’s his turn now) and to sleep in. Other than that, I’m easy! But I’ll definitely be putting the ‘no poop’ thing on my shortlist!
So we’re all agreed… no poop on Mother’s Day. Brilliant suggestion Laura!!!
Or the hula hoop could be a great distraction so you CAN sleep in! LOL
My kingdom for a day without whining–although no poop is pretty good too. Really I just like the idea of spending family time together without the TV or computers being on. Maybe some cuddle time and a story book or two.
I’m with you… I really just want a day where we all have fun together.
Definitely a day with the fam….I guess I would just like to know that the work I do is appreciated. A card would be nice, but one that is personalized, not one written by the greeting card companies.
